The Blue House: Seoul, South Korea

Mt. Bugaksan paints a lovely backdrop for The Blue House

Kind of like The White House in Washington, D.C., Cheong Wa Dae, also known as The Blue House, is home of the President of South Korea. Cheong Wa Dae translates into, “The House of the Blue Roof Tiles.”

100_5214The Blue House was one of our stops on the Seoul City Tour, and one of the shortest, as well. We didn’t really know what to do there, besides look at the home of the President, Park Geun-hye, the first woman President of The Republic of Korea.

Upon further research, we found out that you can make reservations for a 90 minute tour, online, at least 10 days in advance, and up to six months in advance. We may have to make a stop back there before we leave and check this tour out. You can fill out an online application here.

Directions: Gyeongbokgung Palace Subway Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), take Exit 5, walk 10 minutes.
