Coex Aquarium

Jim and I love aquariums. We have wanted to check out the Coex Aquarium in Seoul since the summer, but haven’t had the time. We finally made time for a visit on our anniversary, and what a perfect day it was. The Coex Aquarium is located on the bottom floor of the Coex Mall.

My favorite section of the aquarium is called “Fish in Wonderland.” Everyday items were taken and turned into fish tanks. I was amazed by the creativity.

the sign nearby said “For display only,” guess you can’t pee in this toilet

Not only did the Coex Aquarium have tons of fish, but they also had manatees, monkeys, weird squirrels, penguins, and beavers.

Coex Aquarium offers a foreigner discount. An adult ticket was only 13,500 Won. We spent about 2 1/2 hours at the aquarium and would definitely consider going back before we leave. Check out the Official Site of Korea Tourism  for more information, including directions.

My husband is Korean (born here though) and has been there in the past couple of years, but I haven’t. We have plans to visit someday and this looks like something we will need to check out!
